Passing through Ohio

On a ride back from the Electric Forest music festival in Rothbury Michigan I was traveling passenger side as we passed through Ohio, we were surrounded by farmland and beautiful scenery. These are a few of the images I captured during that drive, these images convey an oldness of these fields per the way I edited them to give a darker and older look

Gear Review: Magmod Professional Flash Kit

I recently purchased the Magmod professional flash kit on eBay as I didn't have much to work with other than a cheap softbox and in one shoot it showed that it was definitely worth the money. This professional flash kit comes with a Magsphere, Maggrid, Magbounce, Maggel and creative and color correcting gels. Its name says it all, everything connects to your flash with magnets which is extremely efficient and convenient as you can quickly swap out the different attachments quickly or combine for dramatic effects, like the Maggrid and the Magsphere were the most used in this shoot and made images that could not have been reproduced any other way without post-processing so it saves time editing as well as getting creative images. the whole kit comes with a rubber mount that can attach to almost any flash head so for any photographer, it is definitely worth it to invest in good flash modifiers.

Nahko And Medicine For The People

With a few emails and a well-selected portfolio, I was given the opportunity to shoot at the Brooklyn Bowl for one of my favorite bands, Nahko And Medicine For The People. As his new prequel album, My Name Is Bear was released that night the whole venue erupted in joy as they took the stage and Nahko spreads words of peace, Love, and self-discovery. After a lot of lense swaps and even more running around, i was able to capture a lot of beautiful images that I felt very happy with despite not being able to use any flash, which forced me to stop caring about how sharp images were and care more about creating good images out of what I was given. In the end, I went from almost not going to this show to being the only photographer for the whole set, showing that perseverance and setting a professional image will set you on the paths you were meant to go on.

Reaction Paper: The End

This semester is coming to an end and has been filled with a lot of memorable moments. I have met a lot of new people throughout the past few months, I have been able to see their creativity and in a way understand my own better as I was challenged to create my own ideas in my on-site location class.    I have also developed a better understanding of lighting, posing and quickly learned that reliable models will help you go a long way I am happy with the work I have produced in my photography three class, it will help me in my effort to go onto my own studio or assist to get myself into the field after graduation. My History Of Photography class helped me understand how photography became what it is now and I learned a lot about the great photographers that paved the way for me and made their mark in history.     I've learned a lot about my rights as an artist and steps I can take to start running a successful photography business...
